Prepare for a new take on Batman after Christopher Nolan wraps up the current trilogy, as Warner Bros. targets a 2013 release for an ensemble film filled with super-human characters.
The new Batman will need to fit in with the special powers of Justice League cohorts Superman, Wonder Woman and company.
Nolan and his producer wife Emma Thomas will still have significant input into the reinvention of Batman, according to a Los Angeles Times interview with Warner Bros. Picture Group president Jeff Robinov.
The studio is already ramping up for 2013's team effort, starting with the appearance of the Green Lantern in the feature film set for June release.
Marvel is engaged in a similar project, as May 2012's The Avengers will draw upon characters re-introduced in Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk as well as Thor (May 2011) and Captain America: The First Avenger (July 2011).
